Finished at last ...

Have finishing touches to do like I have to put up floating black gloss shelves on one wall and some magazine holders on another. What magazine holders? Yes to hold my recipe books. They are black iron (of course) and I think something different for a kitchen. Oh and I am waiting on my brother to install a stainless steel cover over the ducting for the rangehood... Well here are the latest photos.

Haven't decided on stools as yet either they are too expensive (like $200.00 ea) or not suitable so still using the old ones

I think the birds are flying in the wrong direction but that's where my daughter said they would be best...

Love the stovetop. It is induction so quick start up and I can put a timer on each element so if I forget I am cooking it doesn't matter as long as I use it...

Only problem with the black glass splashback is that water flicks onto it and then it has to be wiped down all the time...

This is a great cooking space. I love baking in this area as there is so much space. I have room for my tablet  when I need a recipe from the internet and on the other side I have all my cooking stuff and electric beater etc

In this area because the depth of the counter is 860mm wide I can leave all my appliances out and still have plenty of room.

21st Sept. Floors finished last coat on ...

Floors finished last week. Now I have to paint skirting boards. Can't decide if to paint black or white.
Two family suggested black but doing white would be so much easier as the walls are natural white.
Not much to go now. Fridge to be moved in and kick boards to do - then finishing touches. Like a set of three birds on one wall. Mine are a take off from the old vintage/retro ceramic birds but mine are wood with a vintage wallpaper. Plus I am putting up some high gloss black shelves on the wall which is completely bare at this stage.

22nd August. Splashbacks installed

1st Aug. Appliances installed

8th August. Hotplates and oven was installed last week. Now I can do some cooking.
Also had a service call out from ASKO as when the plumber used the dishwasher it started leaking. Seems ASKO have tight seals - too tight! Now all OK. Farquhuar also came to bring back the draws that had to be adjusted. Now only waiting for splashbacks and another coat on the floor and the skirting boards.

This will be where the microwave is going...

5th July. Kitchen cupboards installed.

Installion of cupboards now complete. Today the template was taken for the Essastone 'Porcini' by Laminex. It will be installed in three weeks. The electrician then can   install stove and hotplates. Then I can start using the kitchen even though I won't have the splashbacks. They should be delivered in about three weeks after the stone is installed.  At last the floorer will come back and give one more coat on the floor and install the skirtings. Also he will re-instate the fridge as he told me no one else is allowed to put it in place in case they scratch the floor! He really cares about his work and it shows. I think then that will be the complete finish!

4th July. Work begins...

4th July. Because they were over a week late they had the installer come the same day so work began about 7.00 am. Took this photo about 7.00 pm
